I don't know if it's related, but I also updated my AMD radeon driver to 19.7.5 by downloading from the amd website and choosing "Clean Install"." I reinstalled just the lightingservice component and then rebooted, and sh.it just started working. Same at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ (deleted the lightingservice folder) I then went to the registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ and deleted the LightingService subdirectory. "I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\LightingService after uninstalling the lighting service component and found a 3kb file called LastProfile.xml. ![]() To fix it I followed this post exactly and it worked perfectly! If this works for you in the future just remember to be careful because Asus aura is controlled with motherboard firmware in a windows environment so fixing it isn't as simple as just reinstalling the program if it doesn't work anymore. It turns out that aura sync accesses profiles on a chip on the motherboard and I had corrupted the file by messing around with both the aura program and the armoury crate at the same time (use one, NOT BOTH!!). ![]() Reinstalling windows did not fix it either so don't do this unless you know for sure it's a software issue! I've seen issues for this all over the place and finding a fix was difficult, but basically my motherboard aura sync control was not working at all. I was having issues with the armoury crate not working AT ALL and Asus aura program giving me a startup error too.
